ESSENCE OF CHRISTMAS

ESSENCE OF CHRISTMAS

Once a year we are celebrating this very special day. A day when our Lord Jesus Christ was born in a stable, surrounded by farm animals in Bethlehem.Christians and non-Christians celebrates Christmas as a major festival and public holiday in countries around the world. Others celebrates Christmas with gift-giving, decorations and Christmas trees.
Catholic countries have their special preparation for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. In the Philippines, majority of people there are Catholic. On December 16 they started their "Simbang Gabi" or Night Mass untilChristmas eve. Christmas day is a day when family reunites and exchange gifts while watching their beautiful Christmas tree along with Christmas songs.
Christmas is not for one day. Everyday is Christmas if practice gift giving, love and peace. Our heart wrapped by darkness learn how to forgive our enemies no matter how bad they are. Children are excited to receivedtheir Christmas presents. But the most important is let us be a role model to them and explain the true essence of Christmas - as a good time; a kind, forgiving, charitable, pleasant time.

EQUAL RIGHTS,EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES

EQUAL RIGHTS,EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES

Women and men have equal but different missions in life, each pursuing their own path to holiness. For women to adopt the lifestyle of men is not only contrary to their nature and divinely given task, but betrays a lack of self-respect for their own dignity and worth.
Inclusion is seen as a universal human right. The aim of inclusion is to embrace all people irrespective of race, gender, disability, medical or other need. It is about giving equal access and opportunities and getting rid of discrimination and intolerance (removal of barriers). It affects all aspects of public life. Inclusion today is more widely thought of as a practice of ensuring that people in organisations, feel they belong, are engaged, and connected through their work to the goals and objectives of the department. Equality and Diversity promotes that everyone has a human right be equal and have the opportunity to achieve their potential, free from prejudice and discrimination.
Under the Equal Opportunities Act we have to ensure equality and diversity to all learners and staff. This means that the environment where the teaching is taking place promotes equality and diversity.

CLIMATE CHANGE

''CLIMATE CHANGE''

Every place, country, city, region has its own climate. Climate plays one of the important roles in people’s life. UNRAVEL THE CAUSES,BUILD THE SOLUTIONS EMPOWER SCIENCE CLUBBERS TO ACTION

UNRAVEL THE CAUSES,BUILD THE SOLUTIONS EMPOWER SCIENCE CLUBBERS TO ACTION

“To the children of the earth; Today is a sacrifice, tomorrow is a paradise.” The environment is our nature, all it encompasses play vital and huge role in our daily lives. It has everything humans needed and depend on for our physical survival. Every little thing is provided by it and the natural world around us such as: fresh air, food, water, materials for our shelter and even environmental cycles. Moreover, nature has been also our greatest medicine cabinet for common colds and ailments.

But it is downcast to say that we, people in the present, have almost disconnected ourselves from the natural environment. It is merely easy and convenient for us to forget it, which however remains giving and providing us as ever even as it vanishes bit by bit. Maybe because, technology and industry become more and more evident to us that our natural environment becomes so foreign. Yes, we may have superficially blinded by the modernization and are distant away from nature, but still we have not changed our reliance on the environmental world and all the things we use and consume remain the products of the interactions within it.  See? Amidst all the hysteria however lies the forgotten fact that the latest development is not always best for the society.

MODERN DAY HERO

''MODERN DAY HERO''

A hero is not just the title of an action-packed kung-fu flick with subtitles. A hero these days has many meanings; depending on the time and reason that person is called a hero.
According to Webster’s Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary, the definition becomes very broad. It starts as being “a mythological or legendary figure often of divine descent endowed with great strength or ability” and becomes “a man admired for his achievements and noble qualities.” The last definition listed is probably the most modern of the many, being “an object of extreme admiration and devotion.” These definitions are in the same order as listed in the dictionary, but also seem to be chronologically listed as well, because overtime the meaning of the word hero adjust it’s self to the people using it. Thus, the definition of a hero changes parallel to the evolution of society, religion, and politics, in order to placate the desires of the people involved.

When you think of a hero, you probably think of someone such as Superman, or Thor, or Ironman. But have you ever thought of a more historical hero, such as Odysseus? There are many different historical, and modern day heroes.
In the movie The Avengers, there are many modern day heroes. Modern heroes seem to have more human characteristics rather than more historical characters. Although, if a hero is someone without superpowers, then historical and modern heroes  have the same characteristics, unless they are immortal. Modern day heroes journeys are involved more in everyday life. Instead of going on an actual "journey" they are taking a smaller journey, defeating one thing in their city or town. Or, they also could be going on a journey of defeating many villains, or other characters to eventually reach the end of their journey where they defeat an ultimate villain, or bad guy. Modern day heroes are also always saving humans on scene, instead of going somewhere, or on a journey to defeat someone or something that will later help people. Instead, they stop the fight or crime at the scene. Also, modern day heroes fight for their cites or suburbs, as oppose to historical heroes who normally fight for their countries. Modern day heroes also have to face the challenges of guns, better weaponry, and more experienced fighters.
